Greece launches heavily-discounted bond buyback

ATHENS, Greece (AP) ? Greece said Monday it will spend up to ?10 billion ($13 billion) in a heavily-discounted bond buyback program that it hopes will help stabilize its debts.

Private holders of Greek bonds, such as banks and pension funds, have until Friday to register their interest in participating in the buyback program. It will be conducted by what is known as a Dutch auction, a type of auction whereby prices start high and then decline.

The buyback should be completed by Dec. 17, the Public Debt Management Agency said in its announcement.

Greek officials are to brief finance ministers of the 17 EU countries that use the euro on details of the scheme when they meet in Brussels later Monday.

The buyback was agreed at a meeting last week of the eurozone and the International Monetary Fund when Greece's next bailout payment was authorized. The hope behind the buyback is that it will shave about ?20 billion ($26 billion) off the country's debt and comes less than a year after private holders of Greek debt agreed a big writedown in the value of their Greek bonds.

There are 20 series of outstanding bonds eligible for the scheme, which will command different prices depending on the bond maturity. Greece has set a minimum range of 30.2 percent to 38.1 percent of the bond's nominal value, and a maximum of between 32.2 percent and 40.1 percent.

Greece has been dependent since May 2010 on international rescue loans from the IMF and its partners in the euro. The funds have prevented the country going bankrupt and possibly leaving the euro.

In return, Greece has had to take drastic measures to reform its economy, including slashing pensions and salaries, and increasing taxes. But the measures have not had the effect Greece's creditors had hoped, with a worse than expected recession now heading into its sixth year and undermining efforts to make the country's debt sustainable.

The debt buyback is part of additional measures Greece agreed to take last week, which came alongside the approval for the release of a critical, ?44 billion, bailout installment.

The country expects to receive the vast majority of that amount ? more than ?30 billion ? by Dec. 13.

If you have a toddler... Gift from baby?

I am, but I haven't decided what yet.? Unfortunately it is 2 days after Christmas (my RCS), and so I would like to find something good, but he will have just been showered with TONS of stuff a couple days before.

I am going to put it to him, that it is his present for becoming a Big Brother.?I am thinking maybe something as simple as a game for the LeapPad he is getting?for Christmas, though I would like something more meaningful.? But, at the same time, how meaningful is anything to a 3 year old, really??

I also am having him get a gift for the baby, as well.? We went the other day to pick out a piggy bank for him to give to her for her birthday.

Get legal protection for your ideas - Valley Business Report

March 2013 brings a monumental change to patent law when the Leahey-Smith Act goes into effect. The U.S. will switch from a First to Invent system to a First Inventor to File basis. The Technology Ventures Conference on Protecting and Commercializing Your Intellectual Assets, sponsored by the UTPA Small Business Development Center and the UTPA Office of Innovation & Intellectual Property, examined that change, the biggest patent shakeup in 60 years, and commercializing a patent.

Jacquelyn Michel, now the the Driector of TEchnology Transfer at the University of TExas at San Antonio and until recently at UTPA, discussed technology commercialization and patents with conference speaker and attorney David Clark.

Patent attorney David Clark explained that a successful patent must be useful, innovative and non-obvious. He recommended first doing a thorough Google search to see if your idea exists anywhere. If your product, process, design or composition appears unique, the first step is to file for a provisional?patent. ?It puts a mark in time for you,? he said. This gets you on record as the First Inventor to File.

Next step is the nonprovisional, which gets you ?applied for? status. ?It could be three to five years before the patent is issued.?

Clark described several most important steps in preparing your technology for its introduction to investors and the marketplace. Start with a detailed description of the problem your new technology solves and do it in simple-to-understand, non-jargon language. The description of the product itself?should point out its features and their functions along with the benefits of those functions. As the management team works through describing the product features and benefits, they should discover their marketing message. You should also have a strategy to protect the intellectual property and be able to articulate what development stage your product has reached.

Investors, Clark said, look at four areas when researching a potential investment: the technology itself; the management team; the market for the product or process; and the financials.

Clark has all his clients read the book ?Patents, Copyrights & Trademarks for Dummies.?

?If the patent is that important to your business, don?t do this yourself. See a patent lawyer.?

On the issue of discussing your new idea, Clark said don?t do it. Before you disclose your idea to independent contractors, you must get them to sign non-disclosure agreement.

Henry Oh, Driector of TMAC, exchanged information with UTPA chemistry professor Dr. Frank Dean, who is planning to start trials on a diabetes drug.

?If you are showing people your secret sauce, you want to protect it.? Nevertheless, he noted that professors presenting papers at conferences are among the biggest transgressors. The upcoming First to File process is going to require even greater caution. Canada switched to a FIF system 25 years ago and reportedly has seen a decrease in independent inventors filing for patents while those filed by large corporations have increased.

Clark pointed out the long-term outlook that inventors and their investors must take. ?Most management teams I deal with, no one is getting paid. They are all in it for a piece of the action. They are all risk-takers, No one is looking for a W-2.?
Potential growth ?The sky is the limit when you are the first to market. People buy things because they are new and will pay exorbitant prices,? said engineer Kathy Wiggin, who is director of Manufacturing Operations of FibeRio Technology.

BCS bonanza: Alabama vs. Notre Dame

Alabama vs. Notre Dame. The BCS championship game couldn't get much bigger.

The Crimson Tide locked up a spot in the title game in Miami on Jan. 7 with a 32-28 victory over Georgia for the Southeastern Conference championship Saturday.

Sunday's selection show is just a formality.

The hype can begin now for what could be the most-watched BCS title game since the system was implemented in 1998. It'd be hard to find two more popular programs and a more enticing matchup.

The top-ranked Fighting Irish (12-0) have won eight AP national titles ? matching Alabama for the most ? but none since 1988. They'll be playing in their first BCS championship game.

Alabama (12-1) is making its third BCS title game appearance in four years. The Crimson Tide is trying to become the first team to win back-to-back BCS titles, and three in four years.

"We created a great opportunity for ourselves," Alabama coach Nick Saban said after his Tide beat the Bulldogs at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The Irish and Tide have played six times, though not since 1987. Notre Dame is 5-1 against 'Bama, including a 24-23 victory in the Sugar Bowl in 1973 that gave the Irish a national championship. They also played in the Orange Bowl in 1975, and the Irish won 13-11.

The buildup for this one, however, will be unmatched.

"I'm pretty sure it gets the old-heads excited, people that are in their 50s and 60s," Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley told The Chicago Tribune. "It's going to be a historic game."

A return to glory for Brian Kelly's Fighting Irish or a dynasty for Saban's Tide? Seven straight BCS titles for the SEC or the end of a 23-year national championship drought for Notre Dame?

There will no doubt be plenty of people tuning in to find out.

The highest rated BCS championship game was Southern California, going for three straight national titles and back-to-back BCS championships, against Texas in 2006 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. That game drew a 21.7 Nielsen rating.

Alabama's BCS title win over Texas in 2010 drew a 17.17 rating, a close third behind the 17.4 Florida-Ohio State drew in 2007.

Considering Notre Dame's regular-season finale against USC had a 10.3 rating, higher than any of the BCS bowls last season other than the championship game, it's a safe to say this year's championship game has a chance to blow by the record.

The rest of the BCS lineup also fell into place on championship weekend.

No. 7 Kansas State took the Big 12's BCS bid with a 42-24 victory at home against Texas. Collin Klein ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, making a final case for the Heisman Trophy.

The Wildcats are headed to the Fiesta Bowl, and Oklahoma could give the Big 12 two BCS teams.

Earlier Saturday, the No. 12 Sooners won 24-17 at TCU to finish the regular season 10-2 and share the Big 12 title.

On Friday night, Stanford grabbed a spot in the Rose Bowl and the chances for a BCS buster decreased.

Northern Illinois' 44-37 victory in double overtime against Kent State on Friday night gave the Huskies the Mid-American Conference title, and ended the Golden Flashes' BCS hopes.

Kent State needed to move up one spot in the BCS standings to No. 16 to earn an automatic bid. Northern Illinois came into the weekend 21st in the standings. The Huskies have a chance to get into the top 16 and into the BCS, too ? but it will be tough.

Boise State is shooting to be a BCS buster again as well. The Broncos beat Nevada 27-21 to earn a share of the Mountain West title. The Broncos, who were 20th in the BCS standings, would need to break into the top 16 and finish ahead of the MAC champs.

The chances for a BCS buster improved thanks to Wisconsin, which pounded No. 14 Nebraska 70-31 in the Big Ten championship game Saturday night. The Badgers will go to the Rose Bowl for the third straight season, and the Cornhuskers, 12th in the previous BCS standings, might be in store for a long fall. That could boost the chances of Northern Illinois or Boise State.

If there is no BCS buster bid, the Sooners (10-2) look like a logical choice to be given an at-large bid. No. 15 Clemson (10-2) could also be in the mix for an at-large bid.

Oregon (11-1) and Florida (11-1) are locks to be at-large selections.

No. 13 Florida State is headed to the Orange Bowl after beating Georgia Tech 21-15 in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.

Louisville earned the Big East's BCS bid by beating Rutgers on Thursday night, 20-17.

Arguing Over Money Drives Your Kids to Credit Card Debt | Credit ...

Just in case you didn?t have enough to worry about, researchers from East Carolina University have recently discovered yet another way we can screw up our kids. Apparently, children of parents who argue about money are more likely to be burdened by credit card debt as college students.

Get the best money tips at Credit Visionary

This cheery information comes on top of concerns about the financial literacy of young people. According to a 2009 study by Annamaria Lusardi, Olivia S. Mitchell, and Vilsa Curto, ?fewer than one-third of young adults possess basic knowledge of interest rates, inflation, and risk diversification.? That level of financial illiteracy is hardly a good foundation for handling credit card debt, and yet that is exactly what is happening with college students. And according to the Journal of Family and Economic Issues, there is also ?growing concern among educators that more students are dropping out of school, not because of academic failure, but because of financial reasons, and credit card debt especially.? All of this together makes it clear that we as a society need to do a better job of preparing our children for financial independence.

But what, exactly, are we doing wrong? And how can we better prepare our kids for the temptations of credit? Here is a basic breakdown of the East Carolina University study, and some tips for increasing your child?s financial literacy before they find themselves quitting college to pay off their credit cards. (See also: 7 Important Lessons Frugal Parents Teach Their Children)

The Study

Researchers, led by Adam Hancock, developed the College Student Financial Literacy Survey, and asked 413 undergraduate students from seven different American colleges to take part. Among the topics on the survey:

  • The number of credit cards the students owned and the amount they owed on each one.
    ?
  • What kind of interactions the students had had with their parents when discussing finances.
    ?
  • Financial knowledge of credit cards, loans, insurance, and personal finance.
    ?
  • Attitudes toward credit ? whether the students regarded credit cards as costly, safe, frightening, etc.
    ?
  • The students? comfort level with only paying the minimum each month.

The Findings

Of the 413 students surveyed, almost two-thirds owned a credit card, and nearly one-third had more than one credit card. The researchers found that there were three top predictors for how many credit cards a particular student had: class year, gender, and whether or not parents argued about money. In particular, juniors and seniors were almost four times as likely to have two or more credit cards than freshmen and sophomores. This finding makes sense, considering the fact that the 2009 Credit CARD Act was partially enacted to help prevent minors from taking on credit they couldn?t afford. Upperclassmen are more likely to be over 21, meaning they don?t need a cosigner to take on a credit card. In addition, women were twice as likely as men to have multiple cards ? although the researchers were a little more vague on the probable reason behind this one. Finally, students whose parents argued about finances were twice as likely to have two or more credit cards as those whose parents presented a united financial front.

These conclusions would not necessarily be troubling if the students carrying these multiple cards were able to handle their debt responsibly. However, students with more than one card were three times as likely to be carrying at least $500 in credit card debt. The bad news for parents keeps coming, because coming from a home with a lot of fights over money also doubles the likelihood of carrying more than $500 in debt.

Arguing over money was problematic for kids from every walk of life, as well. It might seem like a reasonable assumption that money fights would be more common among lower-income families, which might also correlate with higher debt in the next generation. But the study actually controlled for wealth, and found that even kids from wealthy backgrounds were more likely to take on credit card debt if their parents argued about money.

OK, Money Fights Are Bad ? but Why?

While the researchers don?t have a specific conclusion as to why arguing over money can have such long-lasting consequences on the kids, the study?s authors suspect that money fights are an indicator for unhealthy financial attitudes and actions. Study co-author Adam Hancock suggests that ?kids growing up in that sort of atmosphere may be witnessing some unhealthy financial decisions. And they tend to act out those same behaviors.?

Another possibility for why money fights could have such lasting consequences is because they make the entire issue of finance fraught with negative emotions for everyone in the household. Kids will feel like money is something you can?t talk about without starting a fight ? so they don?t talk to their parents about money. When they get out on their own, they may choose to handle financial issues without asking their parents for advice and seriously get themselves in trouble.

Neither of these possible explanations completely explain why parents fighting about money could result in kids with credit card debt ? and that?s because there is only a correlation between the two factors. That means that we can say that two things seem to be related to each other, but we can?t know for sure that one causes the other. (Remember your college statistics class? The one you slept through?)

Basically, without a much larger study that includes many more participants and that looks into many more specifics of the fights between parents as well as other background information on the families, it?s a little fast to assume that all parents who have arguments over money will be looking forward to Junior racking up credit card debt the moment he gets out on his own.

Financial Literacy at Home

That being said, teaching financial literacy to our children is an important part of preparing them for adulthood. Whether or not you and your spouse have occasional spats over the mortgage, the Visa bill, or how you?re going to pay for the college Junior might drop out of, you can always use these strategies for keeping your kids money literate:

1. Include Your Child in Money Discussions

We tend to shield our children from financial conversations. After all, budgeting, bill paying, and saving can all feel like a bit of a bummer. And while there is no reason to bring your child into your financial worries ? no 9-year-old needs to know that you?re concerned about how you?re going to pay the mortgage ? that does not mean they?re unable to handle money discussions in general.

Start when they are small, and talk to them about why you choose one loaf of bread over another in the grocery. Help them understand that you try to save money by comparing prices, and ask for their help in figuring out what is cheaper. As they grow, include them in more of your decisions. For example, you could ask them to help you to figure out where the family can go on vacation based on the budget you have set aside.

When money is shrouded in mystery for children, they won?t suddenly wake up at age 18 knowing how to handle their finances. Introduce the concepts to them slowly, in the same way you teach your children to read ? with age-appropriate lessons.

2. Give Your Kid an Allowance

While one of the biggest flame wars you can see on parenting websites is on whether or not to give allowances as payment for chores, financial and parenting gurus can all agree that the allowance itself is key. Having the responsibility for money each week ? and making sure that you don?t simply buy the kid anything he wants when the allowance has run out ? is one of the best ways to teach budgeting skills and delayed gratification. After all, we all learn by doing, and it?s better for Junior or Sis to learn early that cash doesn?t last forever and that some things are a waste of money.

3. Encourage Your Teen to Get a Job

Many parents feel that their child?s job is to do well in school, and have no other expectations of paid employment for them. Even if that is how it works in your house during the school year, it?s a good idea for your teen to have a job over the summer. Learning how to be a good employee, how to be responsible with a paycheck, and having some part in saving up for college or another big goal are all important lessons that come from teen employment. If they also work during the school year, then they will have a trial run at figuring out work-life balance before they find themselves on their own, which is another important financial lesson.

The Bottom Line

Even if you and your partner fight about money ? and really, who doesn?t? ? all is not lost. Yes, money fights may be correlated with irresponsible credit card behavior, but you have the ultimate influence over your child. As long as you are proactive in using that influence instead of just letting your child soak up negative atmosphere, then you can rest assured that they are learning good habits from you. And by talking to them about money, you give them an opportunity to have an open dialogue with you later on if they hit a bump in the road.

Now, for the million and one other ways you can mess up your kids?

Obesity expert offers four tips to end child obesity in US

Numerous and complicated theories abound regarding why America?s children are becoming fatter, more diseased, and emotionally unstable each year. At the same time, bullying, teen suicides and child obesity continue to rise, and proposed solutions to these problems tend to be expensive and unlikely to be undertaken in these tough economic times, notes Gordon Filepas, author of ?Lean And Healthy To 100,? a guide for achieving optimal health based on studying cultures where long lives are the norm. He explains, ?Even if implemented, most of these ?solutions? are not likely to solve the problem. That?s because most Americans were never taught the simple, common-sense root of most obesity and disease. There?s no mystery or magic to it at all.?

Filepas talks about easy, inexpensive and natural steps to solving child obesity in five years or less:

Parental accountability: Your job as a parent is to teach your children what they need to learn to become productive, balanced and healthy adults. Buying snack foods, sodas and junk food for your children is not being responsible. Plus, you?re rewarding companies that make these products. You?re probably listening to the ?popular? health advice in America, which is mostly incorrect. You need to learn the correct common sense information once and for all so that it becomes easy for your child to stop craving these ?foods.?

School accountability: If your school sells and profits from any type of junk food in vending machines, it should be ashamed of itself. I know school budgets are strained, but making money from junk food is wrong on so many levels. If a school really needs to carry these foods to make money, then we should mandate that manufacturers create a ?school version? that contains all the nutrients the human body needs and are made from only whole, natural food sources and nothing man-made. If implemented, students would shine in so many ways.

Teach parents and children the root cause: From 20 years of health research, I?ve learned from experts that the root cause of obesity and disease is due to imbalances in the human body. The underlying, real root cause of these imbalances is a lifestyle that does not honor how the human body actually works, or respects what it really needs. The proper lifestyle is composed of the proper nutrition and daily living habits that maintain and preserve this nutrient foundation, and balances biological function. Without this lifestyle, biochemical imbalances occur inside the body at every level and begin to create the ?symptoms? we call weight gain, addictions, cravings, emotional and behavioral imbalances, mood swings, learning problems, poor attitude, poor choices, disease and ultimately death.

Focus on the inside first: The fatal flaw America is making in terms of its health and obesity is that it is trying to solve health and weight problems using outside-in solutions like calorie counting, calorie restriction, willpower, dieting, etc. This is ineffective because it does not create natural internal balance. These are ?unnatural? man-made solutions that do not respect what the human body needs or how it works. The secret is to balance the inside first. Then everything on the outside will naturally balance itself automatically.

About Gordon Filepas:
Health author and father Gordon Filepas spent thousands of hours over a 20-year period researching the research of the world?s top health, anti-aging and longevity experts and long-lived cultures after his father and brother both died of cancer. He boiled down more than 80 years of their research into the seven daily steps that ultimately matter. He has recently partnered with the national charity Beating the Odds Foundation to teach the information in his book, ?Lean And Healthy To 100,? in schools to end child obesity.

Home Improvement Help You Need To Succeed

Don?t spend more than you plan on. Setting a budget is the best way not to spend more than you can afford on your project, or more than your house is worth. Make a complete budget and adhere to it strictly.

TIP! Keeping safety in mind is important for any home improvement work you do. Taking the right safety steps will help make sure no one is hurt.

When you finally decide to begin a home project, you are likely thinking about the end result, but it?s critical to plan how you are going to get there, first. The tips below will help you get started.

Envisioning the result before starting your improvement is always a good exercise to use. You don?t want anything that?s going to be an eyesore for you or for your neighbors. Although it is important to make your house stand out from other homes in your neighborhood, you still need to ensure that the landscaping is not an eyesore. It is much better to be recognized for your home?s beauty and quality rather than outlandish home improvements.

TIP! It is not necessary to change your kitchen cabinets, nor is it necessary to spend a fortune to help freshen up the look of your kitchen. Some paint can create a major change.

One great home improvement project is insulating. Use weather stripping around windows and doors. Your heating and cooling systems will be more efficient if you can reduce the amount of outside air entering your home. This lets you keep to any household budget.

If you are considering home improvements that will add to your home?s value, think about improving the porch. Visitors? eyes are immediately drawn to this area. You can even paint your home and get some plants. Curb appeal can help to make your home worth more in the eyes of others. These little things can have a huge impact.

TIP! Use a stainless steel taping knife if you are taping sheetrock. This type of taping knife is a lot easier to clean and it will help your jobs that you tackle in the future.

Investigate credentials for all professionals you enlist for home improvements. Doing this ensures you are hiring qualified people for whatever work they are doing for you. In addition, you can have confidence that the work will be completed correctly and follows high standards. Many common mishaps could have been avoided by ensuring your professional has the proper credentials.

Home improvement projects can run into all types of hazards. Yes, those Chinese products are plaguing people again. This time it?s with their drywall, also called wall board or sheet rock. China exports a great abundance of drywall to the US and has been since 2005. The common issue with this drywall is quality control, or the lack thereof. In some cases, drywall from China can emit harmful gases, which can corrode wires.

TIP! New wallpaper trim and also artwork can really make your bathroom look different. It won?t cost you much, and it comes in many designs.

Nearly everybody has heard about planting a tree for tomorrow. Planting trees can also make your home worth more. Each full grown tree increases the value of your property by approximately $1,000.

If you live in a rural area, think about installing a tall fence around your yard. That will keep animals away from your house, especially if you are thinking about a garden.

TIP! Putting on a new roof is one of the major expenses of home ownership. Always get a few estimates from reputable roofers and not just by the newest and cheapest roofing company.

Ready to take on some home decor tasks? Look first at the supplies you have on hand, both for inspiration and to avoid having to spend more money than you need to. Attractive frames that suit your decor are what you need.

Remember your environment whenever you are making improvements to your home. Forgetting things like insulation in the North, or sun-shielding in the South, will seriously lower the value of any renovations you make. Build what you want to, but try not to go beyond what will be useful in your climate.

TIP! Voice any complaints you may have with your contractor?s improvements. Initiate a conversation with your contractor and see if you can bring the issues to his attention and have them resolved.

Bear in mind that different home improvement applications call for different kinds of screws. It?s worth the brief amount of time it takes to confirm that you have the right kind of screws for your next job. It is best to utilize wood screws when doing projects that involve wood, as these types of screws can go through wood more easily. Likewise, if your repairs involve sheet metal, use screws made just for that purpose.

Ceiling fans make wonderful additions. Ceiling fans are terrific home improvement projects that are simple to install and fairly inexpensive! Ceiling fans can help you save money by circulating air so you don?t have to run your air conditioner as much.

TIP! Invest in a snake for your drains. This will reduce the need for buying drain cleaners.

If you are looking for a cheap method when it comes to floor tiles, try using vinyl tiles rather than using stone or ceramic tiles. This peel-and-stick brand of flooring comes in a wide variety of colors and styles. It can look just like stone or wood, and it?s very tough, easy to clean up, and it can take a beating. You can buy vinyl as individual tiles or by the roll for large areas.

Hire an electrician to help install electrical outlets in the area where you want your microwave to sit. It is going to be easy for you to plug in the microwave without a visible cord. Eliminating dangling cords is an easy way to improve the look of your kitchen.

TIP! Make sure when you are installing tile in any area that will be exposed to moisture, in a shower, tub surround or on a bathroom floor, use the correct cement backer board as a base. This will provide a moisture barrier to keep the drywall behind the tile free of water.

Have your list ready before you go shopping for home improvement items. By doing this, you will make sure to get everything you need the first time you are at the store.

Many times contractors lower construction costs by using solid wood cabinets with no hardware. You can easily purchase any hardware you need at a home improvement store or online if you cannot find want you want locally. You can choose the type you want and easily install them.

TIP! A new coat of paint is a great way to spice up the look of your exterior. This can increase the value of your home because it makes it look better.

You can avoid damage to your house?s foundation by directing rainwater away from the house. This can include grading your yard to slope to the street, or increasing the length of your downspout to go further away from your home.

If you?re out of space in the kitchen, try a microwave which goes over the stove range. The microwave replaces your existing range hood, and vary largely in price and style. This type of microwave does not have a vent. Instead, it circulates air. If you?re a cook who tends to set things on fire, this is not a good idea.

TIP! Set off built-in alcoves or niches by using lovely wallpaper or accent colors. You don?t have to purchase a whole gallon of accent paint, either; a sample container is usually enough for a modestly-sized niche.

Upon selling a home, every part of the home should have a clearly defined purpose. Whether the room in question is an office or a den, its accessories and furniture should make its usage clear. Potential buyers can more easily see themselves using the space. This can make selling a house easier.

Are there many drafts around your house? Effective products have recently been introduced to the home improvement market that can use air as insulation. That?s right?air! It works much like bubble wrap. Instead of padding, however, it provides insulation. The air is pumped into plastic cushions and the cushions are added to your walls and ceilings. This can save quite a bit of money over traditional insulation options.

TIP! A ?no shoes allowed? policy can keep a new floor looking new for many years. Provide storage and slippers near every entrance so that relatives and guests take their shoes off.

Don?t let contractors fool you into thinking they can complete projects in unrealistic time frames. Usually, they have great motivation to finish quickly. They probably want to rush the jobs to spend time on other jobs. Sometimes, it?s better not to have a strict deadline, as it can lead to shoddy workmanship.

If you have chosen to do something major to your house, make sure it complements the construction and style of your entire house. When you put in a garden or patio it should look like the rest of your home, it will be better to look at and not be a conflicting style.

TIP! If you are hiring someone to do some work for you, make sure that their work is guaranteed. Failure to check the paperwork could result in you being stuck with shabby work, and no recourse to follow.
