Financial Lobbyist Jumps from Goldman Sachs to Crowell - The BLT ...

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has lost an in-house lobbyist to Crowell & Moring in Washington, the law firm announced on Wednesday.

Eric Edwards, who was a vice president in the investment firm's government affairs office, joined Crowell as a partner in its public policy group. He will focus on financial matters, including the implementation of the Dodd?Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Edwards said he is "really excited" about his new position. The lobbyist said he landed the job at a time when regulatory activity in the financial sector is abundant.

"It's a great opportunity for me to come to Crowell at this time," Edwards said.

Prior to starting at Goldman Sachs in 2009, Edwards was the Democratic staff director and counsel for House Financial Services subcommittees that had jurisdiction over financial institutions, consumer credit, trade, technology, and domestic and international monetary policy, among other jobs in Washington.
